Same Day Crowns
CEREC® Same-Day Crowns
The introduction of Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic (CEREC®) has revolutionized dental procedures. Previously, treatments like crowns, onlays, inlays, or veneers required multiple visits and waiting periods. With CEREC®, these ceramic restorations are crafted in-office, allowing for swift completion of treatments in a single visit.
CEREC® relies on cutting-edge computer-assisted design (CAD) tools and a sophisticated milling machine to create personalized ceramic restorations. Its versatility makes it ideal for various patients, including those with dental anxiety. Additionally, CEREC® has the potential to lower treatment costs, making it accessible to more individuals seeking dental care.
Why Choose CEREC®?
CEREC® provides advantages to a broad spectrum of individuals seeking ceramic restorations. However, certain factors, such as a history of breaking ceramic restorations or a deep bite, may make some patients unsuitable candidates.
Other benefits of CEREC® include:
- Elimination of temporary restorations
- Utilization of high-quality ceramic products
- Minimal invasiveness
- Reduced injections and discomfort
- Fewer dental visits required
- Cost-effectiveness
- Preservation of more natural tooth structure
- Long-lasting, biocompatible solutions”
The Components of the CEREC® System
The CEREC® System, also known as a CAD-CAM system, integrates Computer Assisted Design and Computer Assisted Milling technologies. Comprised of three main components, it offers a comprehensive solution for efficient dental restorations:
–Acquisition Device: Equipped with a high-quality camera and medical-grade computer, this unit captures images of the prepared tooth. These images are then used to generate three-dimensional representations, guiding the dentist in designing the optimal ceramic restoration.
–Three-Dimensional CAD Software: This advanced software enables thorough assessment of the tooth from multiple angles, providing a detailed perspective for precise design.
–Milling Device: Utilizing specifications input into the computer, the milling device fabricates the custom restoration from a ceramic block selected to match the tooth’s natural color. Within minutes, it materializes the restoration designed by the dentist.
